This is what I would literally call a hearty meal! The first time I tried chicken hearts, I didn't really like them, but obviously I just had to figure out a good recipe.
So, this is one of my favourite ways to prepare them. It is an easily prepared high fat meal and pretty saturating.
Instructions
- Cut chicken hearts into slices and start to fry them in a big pan at medium heat
- In the meanwhile, cut the onions and mushrooms
- Put onions into the pan and fry everything, until it gets a nice roasting flavor
- Add mushrooms and fry for another 5-10 minutes
- Pour some water into the pan and let everything simmer for 25-30 minutes to get the hearts tender. This also softens their taste
- Add cream & seasonings and let simmer for a few more minutes
Recipe Notes
I, personally, wanted to have a sort of cream soup in this case, therefore I didn't reduce the cream that much. Of course, you can cook it, until you have a thick sauce.
There is no Nutrition Label for this recipe yet.
I also added some shredded mozzarella, this made it even better.
