- 900 gram beef shank two big pieces
- 400 gram ham hock
- 20 gram coconut oil
- 6 liter water

- 2.5 liter broth from previous ingredients
- 500 gram prepared soup meat from previous ingredients
- 1.5 liter water
- 1 kilogram mixed vegetables frozen or fresh - e.g. broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, leeks

- 2 tablespoon(s) Salt
- Pepper
- Cumin
- Garlic powder
- Italian herbs
- Chili
- 2 bay leaves optional

Broth
- First, melt the coconut oil in a big pot on medium-high heat
- Put the beef shank and ham hock into the pot and sear them on each side until they get a slight brown crust
- Finally, pour in the water and let everything simmer for 5-6 hours with the lid on. Stir and add some water occasionally to make sure the meat is completely covered. It is perfect when the meat falls from the bones and most of the bone marrow dissolved into the liquid
Soup
- Put about 1.5 liter water into a medium sized pot and add about 500 gram meat and 2.5 liter liquid from the previously prepared broth. Set the plate to medium heat
- Now, add the seasonings & vegetables and wait until the broth starts to boil
- Finally, let the soup cook for about 30 minutes with the lid on, until the vegetables are done
